One of the several issues I have been having is that the theme I was using is kind of old and creates multiple copies of images. This compounds the issues I was having. Stay tuned, though. Some progress is being made. Slow but steady wins the race?

My original theme that I used for 8 years expired and went goofy, so I was forced to change. Too many cutsie ones and all I wanted was a basic no frills. Not happy with the one I have and may change again.
It’s so frustrating. I have to re-learn a bunch of stuff from the ground up. * Heavy Sigh * I’ll get it. I really would like no frills, too.
I feel for you. A while ago, I had to find a new theme. It’s hard, but in the end, rewarding. New/change is good. I bet it you’ll become more creative with post ideas too. You’ll certainly be able to Blog about what theme NOT to use, LOL. Good luck!
Thanks for the positivity. I know you’re right, of course.
😉
I’m afraid to change my theme because everyone has so much trouble. You’re a brave man, Herb.
It’s just that WordPress is going to this Block thing full force so I figure I might as well try it out.
I suggest throwing it out the window, onto the car of the Happiness Engineers.
That is very tempting! Defenestrate the thing!
Hey, Herb, I did not even realize you’re back blogging again! Nice!
Thanks, Abby!
I do the self-hosted WP and use several different themes. I’m not a fan of the blocks so I use the Advanced Editor Tools plugin (used to be TinyMCE) and the Classic block. I set that as the default and I can type like I used to. If you’re on the WP site, then I know you can’t use plugins.
I do the self-hosted WP as well. I have the classical editor as well but I don’t use it that much. can’t imagine going back to the WP site anymore because I like to “putz” which is what usually gets me in trouble.
You have me nervous. I’ve been using the same theme for a long time now and do far it hasn’t done anything too strange, though I did have a new struggle with image placement on my most recent post. I am much too old yo want to learn new tricks. Your site is looking pretty cool, though.
Thank you so much. It is a work in progress but I am starting to see a little light at the end of the tunnel.
I have been using an obsolete theme for quite awhile – just like my life, I guess. 🙂 I have been putting off doing anything about the old theme because I am afraid of the level of work such a change will cause. I salute you!

It is a pain and a lot of work but cluelessly putzing is something I’m good at.😁
