Good ones, Herb. My father was in the Pearl Harbor attack, stationed on a destroyer. My grandfather fought in the battle of Belleau Woods in France, 1918. They never talked much about their time in the service, until the end of their lives. Those two generations were tough and kept it close to the vest. Different world now, but we still have those who will serve and sacrifice.
“I’ve been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn, and a king /
I’ve been up and down and over and out and I know one thing /
Each time I find myself flat on my face / I pick myself up and get back in the race”
