Here’s the haps:

Yeah. I’m done. I believe in Making America Great Again. President Creepy Joe can call me an extremist or terrorist or whatever he wants but after his hate-filled fiery speech, complete with red backlighting to give an even more dark look and feel to it, the clenched fists, the strident voice – forget it.

When I first started this blog and on and off since I have stated that I am a right-leaning moderate conservative and I believe in America. If you thought the speech the other night was okay and not hateful, you like sleepy, creepy Joe, that’s fine. If my flying my “Betsy Ross” flag is offensive to you then you need to do a little history homework.

    When I snapped and just asked people to be civil regarding our current POTUS (Trump, at the time), I had at least three people jump up and demand to know x,y,z…. why can’t we choose moderate conservatism? Why can’t we be scared of the Reich-like overtones of Biden’s speech?

      It was very scary to me. A lot of people know that I am not a big fan of Trump as a person but I am also not a fan of being called names because I think this country should be great again. The reason MAGA made such a hit with people was that a lot of us believe that whether we are die-hard Trump supporters or not.

      Whilst I am a UK citizen, I didn’t think the speech scary so much as ridiculous, OTT. Political theatre at it’s worst. What is perhaps scary is that some people, Biden supporters, think its great. I don’t know what drugs they are on (I including all big pharma drugs as the majority are neuro-toxic and cause brain damage to greater or lesser extent).

      The third Reich overtones is spot on as we are in the Fourth Reich now and it is the Nazis up to their old game as they never went away after WW2.

      Supported by the Marxists/communists as they are two sides of the same coin. And both out of Germany.

    Sorry, but Trump needs to step up and be accountable for his treasonous actions. I’m a moderate US Citizen who believes in our democratic republic above the worship of narcissistic, hubristic politicians who pander to advocates of theocracy.

      Dear Herb, you can be a moderate Conservative because “Moderate” Conservatives have long been the traditional values crowd that worked well across the aisle with moderate Liberals to make this country great. But the MAGATS are a violence-prone, democracy denying cancer on the democracy and, if not stopped, will bring us all to a place where nobody wants to be, I agree that Biden is not actually the most ideal president but his message was on point and anyone is certainly better than a Trump or a Trumpist or a MAGAT. Moderate Conservatives are honorable people who have always loved America and who have always been a staple in the preservation of our national ideals. MAGATS are destroyers. Do not fall under their spell.

                People who think this is such a bad country should go elsewhere, at least for a while. You wouldn’t disrespect the flag or national anthem of some places and go untouched. But you will do it here and accept millions of dollars in pay and profit.

                Curiously what if a gay person flew both flags. Would that’ve been considered acceptable to you or a slap in the face, whats wrong with freedom of having pride in what you want to have pride in. I mean. If anything that freedom makes America better than most countries, especially those run by actual dictators ie. North Korea, where if you don’t comply to anything you are outright murdered.

                      Hum. Ok. Never felt i was influenced by anythibg i watched as a kid, nothing to me at least was too over the top offensive growing up in tge 70’s or 80’s…i recall things changing by the mid 90’s with the show NYPD Blue which was probably the first show to have nudity & language in primetime. Granted I havent had cable since 2003 and really dont miss ir, esoecially not ads but I still pick and choose things to watch via Hulu or Disney + or Netflix DVD. I also grew up desensitized to adult programing. Ive said many times on my blog that my parents didnt much care to find a babysitter and my brother and I saw multiple films geared towards adults (R that is, not Adult as in X) We were never glued to “the visitor” it wasnt on ALL the time. I lnow people that never shut it off though. But movies from yesteryear…the classics per se…i sure dont find anything offensive unless its before the Hayes Code in the early 30’s or films in the late 60’s. To each his own. Im not gonna change I dont exoext you too either.

    Dearest Herb, Biden has nothing but respect for moderate Republicans/Conservatives. He has made the point many times. He was calling out MAGA-Republicans only. Why would Trump have all those documents? Why would he say he had returned all of them when he hadn’t? He has no respect for the law or the Constitution. He truly needs to be charged with the crimes he has committed out of respect for the law if nothing else.

        The fact that he lumped All Republicans is the major issue to me. People should never lump people into one specific kind of person by their beliefs. Honestly, the media on both sides makes it seem as if the entire population is one extreme or the other. We are not, are we ? We are shades of gray for the most part. That’s why i never say a speific country is an enemy, it’s government/or dictatorship doesn’t always reflevt its people.

    A recent NBC Poll found 41% of Republicans support Trump more than the party. That would be about 30 million people (if my math is right). So President Biden has accused these MAGA supporters of being semi-fascist, with extreme ideology (he includes ‘extreme-minded’ Republicans in Congress). Reminds me of Hillary’s “Basket of deplorables” who she labeled as having “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic” views.

    It seems to me that dissing up to 30 million people is not a very good way of bringing the country together and winning an election. Say what you will about Trump – he is very good at making his opponents say and do things that they might come to regret.

    The way the left leaning media has gone after Trump makes me think of the Salem Witch trials for some reason…

    Your title disclaimer almost put me off reading, Herb, but I believe in listening to all sides, before I make up my mind on a matter.

    I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican and as a Canadian, I have no right to comment on American politics. I have a right to an opinion, but no right to comment. But, Herb, do you not find it interesting that, like sports teams, cult leaders, dictatorships and many religions, democratic politicians have weaponized rhetoric to rally their bases or rile up the opposition? This kind of action tribalizes everyone and turns the “we” into “them” and “us”. How in tarnation can we unite the people, if we keep dividing them? In Joe’s case, I think he realized whispering was not working in the face of all that other noise, so tried shouting, which is never a good look on anyone. I am a centrist conservative, but, in my province and my country, I have no party that espouses those values. The right is too far right and the left (Federal) is too far left. I hear that 64% of our population believes in the center, yet there is no party for the center. Perhaps, party politics needs to disappear in favour of “We the People”. I am not one for name calling though. Mama taught me better than that. My motto is “Hate the act, not the actor.” Nobody should be name calling. We all need to be adults, for a change. Keep Hopeful, Herb. And keep the memes (both Democrat and Republican) coming. Allan

        Actually I think the bigger problem is that the middle never speaks up, at least not as loud as the extreme sides do. Perhaps they have lost hope or figure it is pointless. I know I was a thorn in the side of my local rep for a number of years. I guess I am one of those grumpy old guys. 👴
