Some Stuff I Learned And Father’s Day

Some Stuff I Learned And Father’s Day

I get a lot of good things by serendipity. I was reading that the Dumbest Blogger Ever and he said he was going to start numbering his posts. He said that one of his favorite podcasts does that, too. I know that Bruce over at Weave A Web does this as well. Others do it as well. I began to wonder what the benefit would be so I asked The Google, “why should you number your blog posts” and instead of answering the question I asked it gave me a bunch of marketing information. I guess I had never thought about that aspect of it before. I host my own blog and don’t accept advertising or do affiliate marketing so I don’t really care much about SEO ratings. I like having followers, of course, but I don’t think I am at a point where my blog would do anything but alienate people if I tried to make money from it. But it did turn up some interesting results, nonetheless. I was reading somewhere that these types of headlines get results. Now, whenever I see them I just think “click-bait” and pass over them but apparently, my behavior is unusual. Yes, peanut gallery, that is the understatement of the year, but it would appear that not clicking a headline like that is difficult. For whatever reason people like lists. I can remember reading an article in a writing magazine that a lot of magazines like to publish articles with lists. Who knew?

One of the sites, buffer.com said in this article that the formula for the perfect title is “Number + adjective + keyword + rationale + promise = The Ultimate Headline” and I thought it was clever. The article was really in-depth and linked to lots of other good info. I got distracted and never really did find out what I was looking for, but I guess that doesn’t matter.

Anyway, this post was supposed to be about Father’s Day and had a really fancy-schmancy title, but I kind of ran out of steam before I got to it. My post the other day telling about my epiphany about my writing kind of drained me and now it’s late. I realized when I wrote that then; I miss him. Every year I realize more and more how much wisdom he really did have and, more importantly, how much love was in his heart.

So, if your dad is still alive, do something nice for him, you won’t regret it.

Sure does. I’m glad you posted this. Like really, I would’ve forgotten otherwise and I had no clue you might’ve thought it was today.

For me it just feels more organized. I don’t know anything about the goggle. (How you say? Golgle? Googel? Goolge?) Solid words about your Dad.

Thanks. It was in my heart but I am a week early. I should try learning to read a calendar.

We don’t need no steenkin’ calendars. I don’t think I did too much harm to anybody and I had been thinking about him.

Lol I often think that one of the benefits of attending church (most definitely not the best or most important but one) iui a for schedules. We always celebrate the important things ac nd it helps us not to forget to do so. So my question is did you think Bro. Burgess was celebrating a week late? Lol
Actually, I originally assumed that Father’s Day was today and only knew it was next week when Bro. Burgess announced it at church. Nothing wrong with posting about Father today. It did have me checking the calendar again and I am hyper aware of today’s specifics on the calendar. You know Flag Day and some other important things happened on this momentous day.

Oh yes! Thanks for reminding me of that! It’s also a very important birthday. The birthday of the United States Army.
