When June 5th arrives I will have been married for 40 years. I’m afraid I’m doing something wrong though because it’s all been to one woman. Anyway, we would have liked to have done something spectacular and go away somewhere but instead, we are going to do a sort of “stay-cation” and not go very far. It isn’t so much that we’re cheap as it is being practical and safe. Well, we are kind of cheap, sometimes, but it’s by mutual agreement. One thing you learn after 40 years is how to agree.
People always ask, more and more in these days and times when people don’t have a clue what the word commitment means, “How do you stay married 40 years‽‽‽” My wife has it down to a one word answer, “Forgiveness.” Think about it.
All of my children and grandchildren have some sort of artistic and/or creative streak. I have daughter who enjoys crochet. She has crocheted some cute little critters and when she gets done with one she sends out a family text with a picture of the critter and its height and weight and when she completed it. I’m working on making a birth certificate that she can print out and give to the person receiving the animal. That’s what I’ve been working on today. I still haven’t got it done but here are a couple of pictures of some of her work. She has made a lot more things, like baby blankets and scarves and hats, and a bunch more critters, but I don’t have all of those pictures.
