Positive Words

This is a list of words I had originally put together for a project my wife was doing when she worked in a “before and after school” childcare center. They made a board with pockets on it for each letter of the alphabet (You can make this game age-appropriate for almost any level, really, and tweak it or putz with it until it’s something you like). Then you take the name of the child and draw words corresponding to each letter of that kid’s name. Or just their initials or just a different word each day.

This might sound hokey or corny to you but as an adult, you could take the name of a person you have had some sort of issue with or other, then you could read the list using the letters of their name and find matching traits. It may not change all of your feelings about them, but if you start thinking about them in a different way, it could help. Just sayin’.

Anyway, I started making this table using a plugin called TablePress and it came out okay. I’m not real crazy about how it looks or the scrolling, but I did it. It’s a good plugin but I think the theme has limitations. I am going to add it as a web page to my main site after I tweak it and make it pretty. Maybe with a slider like I did on my Golden Rule page. When I get the page made I will let you guys know. Even if you use templates and have a fairly good understanding of HTML5, CSS, and Javascript, making a web page takes a while. I was going to wait until I had it completed but decided to share this much with you since I started this post a few days ago.
