Blog Reading

The problem that I have with pre-scheduling posts is that I get used to something being there and ready, then discovering that I haven’t done anything for today. Some posts require a lot more energy and time than others, though. I do enjoy writing and I like to think that I could write something that people would enjoy reading.

Writing is what this blog originally was started about. It was meant to be an exercise to warm up for my “real” writing but I have often drifted off into religion and politics and both lost and gained readers in the process. I enjoy it, though. Since Ben over at Brothers’ Campfire explained to me about how the WordPress reader app works and how to connect it to self-hosted WordPress blogs like ours, I have been trying to think in those terms.

The only problem I have is that the followers I pick up, wonderful and bright and intelligent as they are, are all WordPress users. When I was on Blogdrive there was a great community of followers there, too, but after I left Blogdrive, very few people followed me to my new site. I have a blogspot blog with, like, five entries on it. They have a reader on blogspot, too. Nobody from there followed me to WordPress.

I think I am overthinking things too much for me. I am grateful to everyone who reads my stuff and sincerely enjoy when people comment on it, especially if they have something real to say. I don’t mind interacting with people who have a different view from me, unless of course they’re trolls, which is a whole separate issue.

Anyway, thanks to all of my old and new followers for reading my words. My daughters used to sing a song in girl Scouts that said, “Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold…” Although in the case of a few unnamed suspects it should say, “Some are green and covered with mold…”
