My Dear, Sweet, Followers, Newcomers, and Ice Cream Novelty Enthusiasts,
Here’s the haps:
I have been waxing nostalgic lately and when I saw these memes, especially the one up above in particular, they brought a smile to my face. I am not sure if this is a uniquely American experience or not but a lot of Americans of different generations can relate.
Individual ice cream cups with a wooden paddle spoon were created in 1923 by the Dixie Cup Company. They mainly worked with local dairies and didn’t actually make the ice cream. In 1947 a New England dairy called Hood Dairy made them really popular. I don’t remember my very first experience with these, but I know I was young and it was probably at a company picnic or something of my dad’s work. I don’t know, I don’t remember. Anyway, even as an adult, the wooden spoon taste has never stopped me from enjoying the ice cream.
Not much this time around, besides a quick burst of nostalgia as I had a lot of things in real life that I had to and have to get done today and the next couple of days.
