One of the issues I have always had, perhaps all my life, is that I need deadlines and stress to get things done in a timely manner. That’s not entirely true, either because deadlines frequently give me stress and stress gives me stress, too. I’ve always identified with the quote by Douglas Adams, “I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.” But deadlines put pressure on me. One of the problems I have, and this seems strange, is the quality of my audience. I have very educated readers with a wide variety of formal degrees and very savvy readers who may not have formal education and training but have been through the School of Hard Knocks for more than one grade. Oftentimes multiples of both. What this means is that I normally try to put out a quality product for you, my quality readers. I’m thinking, however, that may not do for every day. Some days you will get some less-than-sparkling content but hopefully, I will make up for it on other days.
Time, as always, is another factor. I’m choosing to bond with a five-year-old who is on the autism spectrum and a precociously intelligent three-year-old who live in my house along with their mother rather than spend as much time as I’d like doing something else. There are chores and repairs and church and Sunday School…
Here’s my plan. I would say, “Tell me what you think,” but I am scheduling this to be published 3 days from now and if my plan is successful, have several more scheduled to be posted. Instead of doing a different named subject based on the letter for the day I am going to use the letters of the alphabet as hierarchical headings only. This will free me up to rerun many of my personal favorites, do a few meme dumps, and share a couple of new things with you as well.

I had never thought about writing a book on penguins, but it might be interesting to try.
Whatever works for you, my blogging friend. I know that for myself, that very public weekly deadline is all that stands between me and a blank screen.
Now, though, you are making me think about an A to Z challenge to see if I have photographs at least one old interesting car for each letter of the alphabet. Hmmm.
And the idea of writing a book on penguins never really occurred to me, either.

I wrote a book on water. Not claiming to be Jesus (heaven forbid!). But it was a babbling brook, so it was a little hard to understand.
It did kind of go on and on 😁
I know what you mean about trying to write for your audience but I gave up on that goal. Now I just say to myself, will I make Herb and JD and Geoff and all those intelligent people laugh at just one thing. That is good enough.
