Herb’s Blog, Herbdate 23682 – 1229
Hi, Gang!
Here’s the haps:
If you tried to access the site earlier in the day or last night and weren’t able to connect, I apologize. There was an issue with the certificate the host provided but I think it’s all fixed. After the Godaddy ChatBot got me connected to a live person I was able to resolve my issue within a few minutes. That it took all day for me to look into it is due to the fact that I have a lot going on at the moment and the Season is upon us.
Even though I don’t feel that I or my family are overly materialistic and therefore we aren’t running around like crazy and going into debt for trinkets and baubles, there is still a lot to be done, even if it’s just for the youngest ones.
I’m posting a link to the series of stories I wrote a couple of years ago about the life of Jesus’ stepfather, Joseph, and have found a very useful little tool that lets me rearrange the order of posts in a given category so I can make it easier to click through from start to finish. It’s a plug-in available to dot-org-ers called Post Types Order. Due to large amounts of stupid (by stupid I mean just completely random – not targeted at all) spam in the comments on older posts I have had to set the blog to turn off comments after a certain amount of time. If you do read (or in some cases, dare I think it? re-read) my story, you are always welcome to comment in a current post or even drop me an e-mail at herbthiel at gmail dot com. Saying that makes me shudder a bit because I know that in my audience, both in the past and currently, there are highly educated people, authors, editors and even English teachers and other educators. I hope you will find my offering up to snuff. Once upon a time it was to be a book…
Anyway, here is the link to the category called Joseph retelling, consisting of the 13 parts of the original and here are a few memes to help make the season bright as well:

I think you should follow through on writing your book about Jesus’ Step-Father…
Thanks, John! I appreciate that.
Sometimes, bots are exactly what we expect…
It doesn’t make any sense to me, really. Oh well, as if it would make sense…
Ooh, I hate spam. I leave comments open but require manual approval for any first-time commenter. That has worked for me so far.
Also, this was the Catch up On Herb day I have been trying to get to. For whatever reason, your blog doesn’t show up in my WP Reader. I get a email notification and intend to make the trip, but then I get busy and it gets ignored like my other emails.
I’m really sorry about that. I thought I had fixed my settings so it would show up in the reader.
Nope, I still can’t add your feed to the WordPress Reader.
Aaarrrgggghhh!! Okay…I will continue to look around. Thanks for letting me know.
That does sound like a good idea…
I like how you tell this story, Herb. Actually I like how you tell any story. I like Joseph too; I carry a prayer that honors him in my wallet.
Wow. Thanks for your kind words and taking your time to read my stuff.
Man oh man… I’d better look it all up. After Christmas. 🙂
Please do, when you have a moment. I may have an entry in the works for your contest, too.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
