Cruising Canaveral, Cococay, & Cozumel in the Caribbean on the Blogging A – Z Challenge

Cruising Canaveral, Cococay, & Cozumel in the Caribbean on the Blogging A – Z Challenge

Herb’s Blog, Herbdate 23068 – 1093

Here’s the haps:

Earlier this year we had an old-fashioned Gospel singing and preaching service with a group called the Apostolic Boys. They are going to be aboard this cruise that is designed for Christians, e.g., no bars, no gambling, etc. They passed out this flyer:

TNT and Mrs. Herb want to go and I have never been on a cruise so I think I will enjoy myself a lot. The key to my enjoyment will be setting my mind to total tourist mode. I expect that everything in this giant floating hotel will be like that so if not I will be surprised. CocoCay is a private island owned by the ship company but I expect Cozumel may capture my interest the most. Any of these places that we go to will, of course, be blog fodder so you will find out what I thought.

Sounds like a great cruise. I wish the Mrs and I could make it.

If we get to do it I plan, of course, to blog about it.

That looks great, Herb. I avoid cruises (because I’m not into eating enough), but this entertainment looks excellent.

I did think it sounded good.

Looks like a good holiday to look forward to.

      I’m hoping so.

We cruised to the Bahamas in 1997. 😳 That’s a long time ago! But, Lord willing, we have a short one scheduled for this June. Looking forward to it.

Sounds interesting. Blog posts/pics I hope.

Anita and I used to think about cruising, especially as some friends were reeeally into it (one’s email was even “cruisealot@…”!)
But we took a ferry across the English Channel in the early 2000s and I was SOOOoooo seasick the entire time, barely kept breakfast in my stomach, and miserable for three days after! And this was not a little boat, but a huge ferry with a level for autos, a movie theater, restaurant, game room, and all kinds of amenities, just like a cruise ship.
So I guess we’ll fly if we have to cross any big waters.

That’s a bummer, for sure. I hope that doesn’t happen to us!

That sounds like a great opportunity, I hope you are able to go. If you are careful about what you eat at those lavish buffets, would you call that cruise control?

That was brillant. I laughed out loud and had to explain. It got some eye rolls.

I think they must have other entertainments to replace the bars and the gambling.

This one is loaded with Gospel music.

Since we met in 2008 as widowed, full-time RVers, and Harley riders, we have done 31 cruises together (most on Carnival, but also Disney, Princess, & Royal Caribbean). Early on we did a lot of excursions. We’ve done the Panama Canal partial transit twice, Alaska, Hawaii, and most of the Caribbean. Since we have done the Caribbean islands multiple times, hubby enjoys his scuba diving when available and I use the quiet time to work on writing my mystery books. This fall is our first transatlantic cruise, our first (last/only) time in Europe, and my first cruise on Holland America (hubby cruised on it once with his late wife). We love cruising!

I think I’ll like doing it.

  9. […] you all for your kind wishes for our vacation, we had a good time. TNT went on the cruise I had mentioned last April in the A-Z challenge and enjoyed herself at the same time as we were gone. Hey-Boy didn’t have to be boarded […]
