Here’s the haps:
One of my favorite comic strips is Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis. Yes, before you criticize, I am aware that he can be vulgar (which is not all the time) but he is also genuinely funny. I especially love his puns and I always have a good laugh at the crocs:
Now, I can remember hearing Buck Owens and the Buckaroos singing, “I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail” as well as the old joke, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” But the croc in this minute-and-a-half video made me think immediately about these guys and I think it should probably have stuck with eating Zeeba neighbor:

That was great. I knew the elephant would win, but I’ve never seen that before.
I know. The guide said he had never seen anything like that before, either.
One of my favorite comic strips (but you knew that).
I kind of guessed.
Those comic strips are very funny. That video with the elephant is amazing. I have to admire the crocodile who thought he could take down a full grown African elephant.
It was a pretty bold move on his part, to be sure.
Do you remembere a comic panel named”The Dark Side?” That was my favorite for a long time.
I do remember “The Far Side,” if that’s the one you’re thinking of. I still enjoy it. Reruns by Gary Larson are available: https://www.thefarside.com/
The voices sound all wrong. But I don’t really have voices for them. Much less what the heck Calvin (much less Hobbes) would sound like.
Well, they were all approved by Pastis and he mentioned them on his blog. Calvin would (in my opinion, obviously) sound like Spanky from Our Gang while Hobbes would sound like…hmm…that’s a little tougher.
Pearls is a favorite of mine too I love these the elephant is great as well 🤣😎🙃
The elephant video is pretty dramatic. I would never trust calm water from now on. A crocodile can be underneath of it. LOL. And when we were visiting the Florida Everglades, my friend could spot the crocodile eyes floating on the water surface, but I just couldn’t be so observant. And crocodile is like a narcissist–normal people just don’t see their hidden agenda until they are bitten, by which time it is too late… Sorry. I should be more positive on a Friday. LOL.
That’s a good comparison, though.
Elephant don’t care.
lol. Nope!
I have always loved pigs character in pearls
Me too.
I have not followed it for awhile, but I always liked Pearls too. As for the croc with the elephant, I guess we could say that he has high hopes?
Yes sir. High as the sky. apple pie hopes.
