Sleepy Joe Has Got To Go – Impeach Joe Biden

Sleepy Joe Has Got To Go – Impeach Joe Biden

Herb’s Blog, Herbdate 22675 – 946

Here’s the haps:

Failure to enforce our sovereign borders and allow over two million undocumented persons to come into the country unimpeded. Giving aid and comfort to enemies of the United States by providing eighty billion dollars worth of military equipment to the Taliban and deserting American citizens in a ridiculously botched pull out from Afghanistan. And now, a strongly worded rebuke against a terrorist who has made an invasion of a sovereign nation with a duly elected democratic government.

And who is helping the Ukrainians fight this despot? Mercenary troops from all over the world are being offered high wages to go and fight. Prior military service members who have been deployed anywhere are being actively sought out, especially any with European experience. Five years of military experience in Europe can get you two thousand dollars a day. That’s cool, I suppose, except how many of those will ever make it home and collect the big paychecks they are being offered?

It’s nice that some big-name corporations are sanctioning Russia although I think it’s probably going to hurt the common people of the country a lot more than it will the government. And why are we buying oil from them? Joe could open the reserves that our country already has and reopen the Keystone pipeline.

And where is the much-vaunted United Nations in all this? Where are the peacekeeping forces? Why are there no boots on the ground? Putin has plainly and blatantly broken international laws and nothing is being done by anyone. You Europeans better watch out. If he is allowed to take Ukraine with impunity how long before Poland and Romania fall? This is a man who has stated that he is sorry that the old Soviet Union broke up and wishes it were back together.

This situation has pulled the curtain back on the UN. When I was a kid there were right wing bumper stickers that said “Get us out of the UN”. I remember thinking that those folks were whackos. But I am coming to the conclusion that the underlying concept of the UN is that everyone thinks in essentially the same way, and can talk through their differences.

But we have had about 70 years of proof that this is not true. The Islamic world thinks about things very differently than the way the western world does. And among the big powers, China and Russia come at things very differently from the West, not to mention India. If what we really have is a big game of RISK where all players are trying for maximum power and influence, the UN just isn’t built for dealing with that. Maybe it’s time to terminate the lease and turn the place into a hotel or something.

Biden? I’m old enough to remember the 80s when he was little more than a punch line. Some things don’t get better with age.

Thanks for stopping, JP. When I was studying a map of the area I was thinking about playing Risk. How many rolls can I make?

I think, rightly so, Biden believes that an unstable rat, cornered by American boots on the ground, would be tempted to start pushing buttons. Had Trump given the aid to Zelenskyy when he should have, instead of trying to use it as leverage for his own benefit, the situation in Ukraine would have been better, at least in some respects. Biden isn’t perfect, but he is certainly far, far better than Trump ever thought of being. I’ve read a number of books by people who worked directly with Trump in the administration, and it’s hard to believe how dreadful that man truly is. I can’t imagine a more horrible job than being POTUS, especially with the pandemic and the war. I think Joe Biden is a genuinely good man who’s trying to make the best decisions for Americans that he can. What’s interesting is that you and I seem to have most of the same values, but I think we’re polar opposites when it comes to politics. I suspect our media filters are at the root of the disagreements.

I don’t have a television and don’t go to movies so I don’t have the hollyweird/entertainment industry filters that some people do.
I have had two opinions of Trump from his first appearance in the Republican debates. As a person I think he is a vile, nasty, vulgar and uncouth man. I’ve never tried to defend his personality on any grounds.
His ideas and policies were winners and all Joe had to do was just use the opportunity to take an already highly politicized issue and play it like a champ. Joe has the media on his side and they have managed to quell any real voices of dissent. Joe is pretty much a life-long professional politician who was a lawyer before that. (I have lawyers for readers and don’t intend to disparage their profession, which has been a great help to me and other members of my family but that’s all he’s ever done.) The insanity of the pullout from Afghanistan is enough that, if Trump had done it (he wouldn’t have botched it so horribly) there would have been a much greater outcry from the media.

I’m glad to hear your assessment of Trump the man. I think Trump’s pullout would have been worse, but we’ll never know. 😊

Interesting how Trump keeps getting dragged in when discussing the Ukraine. Not being discussed is what has been described as ‘huge corruption’ in the Ukraine’s defense sector, a problem that new President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is trying to correct. (Zelenskyy was elected in May 2019). The 2019 U.S. military aid was $391 million. Scheduled for delivery early in 2019, it was not released until September 2019. Given Trump’s stated desire to ‘drain the swamp’ (ethics reform) and Hunter Biden’s “problematic” position (on the board of Burisma – a Ukrainian-owned private energy company), the delayed release of the funds is perhaps understandable.

According to Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (a scale of least to most corrupt nations), Ukraine ranked 122nd out of 180 countries in 2021, the second most corrupt in Europe, ahead of Russia.

Media filters – this includes, I guess, books about Trump. It is easy to find negative portrayals – perhaps this one is more balanced: “Donald J. Trump: A President Like No Other” by Conrad Black.

      1. AJMcGregor Avatar

Most of all, I based my opinion of Trump on what he said and did. I’m not a fan of Conrad Black. Trump is not a good man any way you cut it.

Be careful what you wish for, or at least WHEN you’re wishing for it!
Imagine for a minute President Harris, and maybe you will want to change the title of this blog.
“Sleepy Joe has to go in 2024.” (Let him rest until then? 😒)

    1. Herb Avatar

Hahahahahaha! That is a compelling argument.

The problem with Putin, in directly confronting him, is the big red button.

The bigger problem is all the free advertising the Democrats kept giving him about all the obviously real influence he has on American elections. Between that and seeing the withdrawal from Afghanistan and clearly how little the international community itself cares about what’s happening in Ukraine…The biggest problem us the hopelessly intwined economies that prevent anyone from taking a stance other than what it would mean to their bottom line. Contrary to the moral stances everyone insisted on during the War on Terror, the real objections against Iraq were vested interests. And then they had the nerve to say we went there to get the oil ourselves when they projected a powder keg as the obvious result. Twenty years later, what do things actually look like? The Arab Spring was a huge missed opportunity because our ideals are empty rhetoric, and everyone knows it, except the social media that touts it.

    1. Herb Avatar

Putin is an obvious maniacal fool. Anyone who would burn a nuclear plant would have to be.
The withdrawal from Afghanistan was a wretched, I think criminal, debacle.

Joe Biden is simply am old man with dementia. The ones pulling the strings behind him are the issue.

    1. Herb Avatar

Okay, now it’s my turn to comment, “Hmmm…”

  6. cheriewhite Avatar

I couldn’t agree more! And just wait until the gas prices shoot up even higher than they already are. The moron-in-chief was willing to pay Russia for our oil supply after he very stupidly shut down the Keystone Pipeline and other US oil pipelines. Now that he has shit that nest, he’s groveling to Iran and Venezuela to help us with our oil reserves when he could just open our own darn pipelines back up. If I were Iran and Venezuela, I’d be laughing my butt off! We are in deep shit!

    1. Herb Avatar

Open up our pipelines and drill on public land. Sure, work on renewables, but don’t think only of solar and wind, which is really bad for raptors.

      1. cheriewhite Avatar

I agree! The oil industry still has a great use and I’m totally against this Green New Deal garbage.

        1. Herb Avatar

No, that’s definitely not the way to go.
A major flaw in our system is that the people who make the laws don’t have to live with the consequences. E.G., no one in the Legislature has ever had to wade through the Obamacare system as they have theirs all taken care of by us.

          1. cheriewhite Avatar

Absolutely, Herb! 💯 And it’s a huuge flaw in the system!

  7. Garfield Hug Avatar

Truly sad! I wonder if the news on Putin being ill physically pushed him to go to war with Ukraine to redeem a lost land is true or fake news? Whatever it is, this war is just not right and countries are pouring in their funds.

    1. Herb Avatar

Putin is mentally ill. Who but a maniac burns a nuclear plant?

      1. Garfield Hug Avatar

        Sigh!

  8. Jacqui Murray Avatar

All of us knew this would happen. How did those who voted Biden NOT know? I’m appalled.

    1. Herb Avatar

It is appallling. And nobody is standing up to the bully as he bombs civilian targets like children’s hospitals.

100,000 murders in 2021 from fentynyl made in China, distributed by Mexican cartels freely flowing across the open southern border. Thanks Joe and American globalists.

    1. Herb Avatar

      It seems to never end.

And then I hear, on the radio, an update on the case against former President Trump…. Can’t we care about real issues?

    1. Herb Avatar

      I agree.
