This turned out to be kind of more difficult than I first thought it would. I mean, there are a lot of great blogs out there and it’s hard to pick one. I gave consideration to putting the whole list into an excel spreadsheet and I still might do it. It’s an easy way to randomize things and keep track of each one I do. I think I should put the extra effort in. Whether I actually will or not is a different question. Another problem is, do I leave a note in the comments of their current post to tell them that they won? I’ve decided not to do that because I know that I get annoyed when someone has nominated me for some award and they leave a comment that is disjointed and distracting from the rest of the conversation.
A lot of the blogs that I follow are difficult to categorize but this week’s choice fits into one specific niche, Photography. To make it even niche-ier, the photos on this blog are pretty much exclusively of New York City. I have only ever visited New York City one time many years ago and the visit changed my stereotype of New Yorkers to a very positive outlook on the folks there. Except, maybe, when they’re driving. One thing I never associated with New York City is beauty. When I think of the word, “city,” I think of a lot of things but beauty is not one of them. This photoblog changed that perception.
I am offering the “Herb likes this bog and would like to have coffee with this blogger sometime” award to the interesting and frequently beautiful blog, Gerry O’Brien Photography. Along with taking great pictures, he is also a writer, a political consultant, and an advertising/creative professional. Please go nose around his blog and his main website a bit. I started following him on WordPress Reader almost immediately when I did.

Yes sir! Thank YOU for giving me a different view of New York than I ever had before.
One little secret most people are unaware of: New York City is really a collection of about 150 small towns that we call neighborhoods. They can very different, with unique histories, customs, and lifestyles.
Interesting. That would explain why the small-town feeling I got when I visited. The people were great.
I’m not sure I understand your opening when you say ” it’s hard to pick one..” are you looking for a blog theme?
