First, let me thank all of you gracious and wonderful readers for following my little corner of the blogosphere. So many of you are so very intelligent and, obviously, have good taste in blogs to follow. It really makes me feel good.
Since I have reached this milestone here’s what I’d like to offer you as a “thank you.” As a means of celebration, I will, with certain caveats, answer one question from each person that follows my blog. Instead of the 100 things about me like I have in my “A Bit About Me” section, these will be answers to things you, my faithful and loyal followers, want to know. Lydia over at In His Service And Loving It blog did something like this a while back, but she did it in a video.
Questions have to be clean. I reserve the right to not answer any question or even delete it. I have never deleted a comment by anyone, and I think this is a high-class crowd anyway, so we will speak no more of this. Leave your question in a comment and I will reply to the comment as quickly as I can (by that I am asking you to remember that I do have a life aside from this blog). If it’s simple enough I will answer it right away as a reply to your comment. If it is a little or a lot more complicated I will try to give you a quick answer and may follow up with a post on that subject. I will attempt to keep a running tab and make a whole post with all the questions and answers in it.

Congratulations sir!
My question: Is your name actually Herbert?
😃
Sorry for the strange question. I am really curious.
My real name is Herbert. It’s a German name. My dad’s favorite brother was named Herbert. You can read a bit about him here: https://thehapswithherb.com/2004/10/27/herbert-e-thiel/
Ohk! Thanks for sharing!
Herbert’s German? I didn’t know that.
Why did you move to Colorado?
The short story is that we were stationed here at Fort Carson in 1988 and fell in love with it. At that same time we were changing our lives and going back to church and felt like it was God’s will for us to be here. It was a good combination in a lot of ways. We liked it here and God wanted us to be here. There are a lot of details that I will have to make into a post in order to do it justice.
Yay congrats! You are amazing!!!
What was your reaction when you hit 100 followers?
Thank you kindly, ma’am. My reaction was actually kind of, “meh” at first but then I got to thinking about other followers that I have that are not WP numbers and the large number of followers here that I know are real people and I perked up.
Cool awesome!
Congratulations! What was your first pet? 😊
Thank you so much! The first pet I can remember was a medium sized brown dog named, “Peppy.” He was part collie or border collie and part something else that I don’t remember.
What’s your favorite site/blog out of all your own sites/blogs you’ve created?
First, thanks for being a follower for a long time. I appreciate it. Your question is actually a bit tricky because I have some that are now defunct and some I had at one time and abandoned. Just like with my writing and my other creative endeavors some of the old stuff was just junk and not worth a pair of fetid dingoes’ kidneys, but some were quite good. I like the look and feel of herbthiel.com but Prudentia Sit is probably my favorite because I try to put something new up every day.
Do you wear a cowboy hat in real life, and if so when did you start wearing one?
Yes, I do. Most of the time and a lot of places. I have a couple of really nice ones that I only wear “for good.” I started wearing them when I was a teenager growing up in central Wisconsin. People often made fun of me in our little town, but I just always liked them. My first job’s paycheck went to a pair of jeans and a pair of cowboy boots and my next check went for a cowboy hat.
Nice.
I can attest he’s almost never without one.
Hmmm a question, how many people who you met through blogging have you met in person? I think no know the answer but I’could be wrong since you are good at making connections.
I think about 4. I don’t get to exotic places like Slovenia or New Zealand or Wisconsin or anything.

You’re so welcome, Herb!
