I have gathered this information over the years and thought it was interesting. Others may add to it, (I hope you do) because there are also meanings to the various other flowers and combinations you can give and receive. I just think this is interesting. To me, since I know this exists, it is like choosing words. And just as there are certain ways to arrange words on the page to form the music of the soul we call poetry, so too could these be arranged to speak, except that I don’t think this is a standard, just as some will tell you that words and their meanings are not standard, which, by the way, is so much hooey. Words should have concrete meanings and I am mortified if I grossly misuse a word. I might, however, accept that words evolve, just as this list evolved.
Don’t worry, I have NO intention of becoming a florist, but don’t you think this is interesting? Is it the same in other countries, and all over the world?
Nope, I don’t use this guide for my wife, mainly because she is deathly allergic to roses and to send her even one would be catastrophic. It would be the exact opposite of what it means to everyone else.
One last thing, this list is not my own, but a compilation I have gathered over time from various sources.
